SNAP - 7 CFR 273.10, 273.13

POWER - ARW, Chapt. 1, Section 8

A.    Begin the Child Care authorization with:

1.    The date of the Child Care application/request; or

2.    The date the approved activity (see Section 701) began; or

3.    The date the child first entered child care; or

4.    The provider met the provider eligibility requirements, whichever is later.

B.    Prorate SNAP and/or POWER benefits from the date of application until the end of the month:

1.    For initial benefits when eligibility exists in the month of application; and

2.    Benefits have not been received for the individual(s) in the same month; or

3.    When the application for recertification is received after the end of the certification period.

C.   Allow duplication of SNAP benefits and prorate from the date of application when a participating member(s) enters a shelter for battered women and children.

D.   Allow eligibility for the first full month after the date of application for SNAP and POWER when adding a person as s/he is not entitled to prorated benefits from the date of application.
