1302               POWER Eligible/Ineligible for Month

POWER - ARW, Chapt. 1, Section 8

Allow a performance payment for the performance payment month to/for an assistance unit who met all of the eligibility factors and Pay-After-Performance requirements.

                       A.          Realize a change due to participating in a strike, receipt of

excess income and assets may cause ineligibility and the

ineligibility is for the entire performance payment month.

EXAMPLE:  Payment is made for April and one of the above occurs in April.  The assistance unit would have an overpayment for April as the occurrence affects the eligibility for April.

B.    Understand a change in school attendance, parent in/out of home or age during a month does not cause ineligibility for the same benefit month when the case was eligible on the date payment was made but could affect the corresponding performance payment month if Pay-After-Performance requirements were not met.

EXAMPLE:  Payment is made on April 1st for April and one of the above occurs in April.  The assistance unit will not be ineligible for the April payment unless the event occurred prior to April 1st.  If the change was in school attendance, for example, and the child was mandatory to be in school, failed to report and comply immediately, the corresponding performance payment month would be affected due to noncompliance.
