1502 Time Frames for Reporting Changes

A. Instruct the relative/caretaker to report and provide verification of any change in circumstances within ten calendar days of the day the change becomes known by the assistance unit.

B. Require the assistance unit to report changes as follows:
1. Within ten days of the date that the assistance unit receives the first payment attributable to a reportable change in income;
a. Send the General Correspondence (F011) notice advising the client to submit verification within the specified time frame when employment is reported prior to the receipt of the first pay check by the client;
b. Send the Request for Contact (F304) pend notice advising the client to submit employment verification when the first pay check has been received by the client and/or the agency;
c. Send the Request for Contact (F304) pend notice advising the client to submit employment verification when the client reports an income change and does not provide adequate information;
d. Send the Request for Verifications (F305) pend notice when employment information is received from a third party (i.e. New Hire Report).
2. Within ten days of the date the change becomes known to the assistance unit, if the change is not income related;
3. The agency then has ten days to act on the change;
4. The agency must provide a ten day notice of adverse action if the change results in a decrease or termination (see Section 1402).
NOTE: A notice of adverse action must be mailed to the assistance unit and received by the assistance unit prior to the first day of the month when the SNAP benefits were intended.
