1604 POWER Review of Specified Eligibility Factors

Conduct a periodic review of the eligibility factors whenever a change is known or suspected, or at the time specified, but not less than once every six months with the month of application being the first month, on:
A. Child Support Good Cause Claim
1. Require a face-to-face interview; and
2. Allow the recipient the opportunity to withdraw the good cause claim:
a. Refer the recipient to CSA to complete a new DFS 543, Report of Non-Custodial Parent form, when the recipient wishes to cooperate;
b. Change the code on the CSEA screen to indicate the recipient wishes to cooperate;
c. Notify the POWER Unit of the change.
3. Evaluate the validity of continued approval of the good cause claim based on the interview and/or evidence furnished; and
4. Submit the Benefit Specialist's statement and evidence, if available, to the POWER Unit if a change has occurred that possibly warrants denial of the claim; or
5. Obtain the information as requested on the approval notice (see Tables) if the re-evaluation of the claim is due; and
6. Submit the information, current evidence and the Benefit Specialist's recommendation to the POWER Unit for review;
7. DOCUMENT the case record.
B. Age 18 Years Old and Expected to Graduate by Age 19
1. Request verification the child is attending high school as specified in Section 602 and will graduate by age 19;
2. Remove the child's needs from the performance payment when verification is not provided or the eligibility factor is not met; and
3. Authorize the nonpayment status for the corresponding performance period; or
4. Terminate the POWER performance payment when this is the only child in the assistance unit and generate a notice of adverse action (see Tables).
5. DOCUMENT the case record.
C. Assets Subject to Change or Close to the Limit
1. Set an alert as a reminder to review the assistance unit's assets when the combined nonexempt assets are close to the $2,500 limit;
2. Request verification of the assistance unit's current assets and values monthly;
3. DOCUMENT the case record.
D. Minor Parent Provision Met - W.S. 42-2-103
1. Verify the unun-emancipated minor parent and dependent child(ren) reside in the household of a parent or in a supervised setting with an adult relative or court appointed guardian or custodian.
2. Terminate benefits when the requirement is not met.
3. DOCUMENT the case record.
