611                 Temporary Absence

A.    Temporary Absence

1.    Consider an individual to reside in the Assistance unit and meet the temporary absence criteria when s/he is absent for an indefinite period as long as s/he intends to reside in Wyoming;

2.    Consider a LSC or SLSC individual to meet the Temporary absence criteria when s/he is absent for any reason up to 14 days in a year:

a.    Understand Medicaid will pay room and board for the 14-day period;

b.    Realize days in excess of the 14-day period become a private pay/billing issue;

c.    DO NOT Terminate when the 14-day period is exceeded.

B.    Temporary Absence of the POWER Eligible Child 

Find the temporary absence criteria met for the child when:

1.    The Caretaker relative remains responsible for the care and control of the child(ren); and

2.    The absence is for no more than 90 days and Verification has been provided the child(ren) is expected to return to the Home within 90 days.
