703                 Work Registration Requirements

SNAP - 7 CFR 273.7; ARW, Chapt. 2, Section 5

A.    Require the DFS 301 form be completed and signed at initial application and each 12 months thereafter by all individuals mandatory for work registration, excluding mandatory persons who are excused while meeting the work requirements by participating in UIB, POWER, POWER-SASFA or Tribal TANF.

B.    Review the work compliance requirements on the DFS 301 with anyone who is temporarily excused from signing the form so s/he is aware of the requirements and penalties for noncompliance.

C.   Deny any mandatory individual who refuses to sign the DFS 301 (see Section 713) and/or sanction anyone who fails to comply with the work requirements for UIB, POWER, POWER-SASFA or Tribal TANF (see Section 1102).

D.   Require mandatory work registrants described in A. to:

1.    Participate in the E&T program if assigned;

2.    Respond to a request for supplemental information regarding their employment status or availability for work;

3.    Report to an employer to whom referred if the potential employment meets the definition of suitable employment (see Section 704)

4.    Accept a bona fide offer of suitable employment if the wage is at least federal minimum wage;

5.    Retain and maintain suitable employment (see Section 705).

                   E.    Disqualify a mandatory individual for failure to comply with the

    work registration requirements in D. without good cause.
