A.    Refer the mandatory job seeker for work registration using the appointment form (DFS 501) at each application or reapplication and when her/his work exemption status changes to mandatory.

1.    Provide a DFS 110 to an individual claiming an incapacity and explain the form is to be completed by the medical professional and turned into the POWER DFS worker;

2.    Request an individual claiming they are caring for an incapacitated immediate family member full-time in the individual’s home to obtain a statement from a medical professional concerning the care needed and to turn the statement into the POWER DFS worker;

3.    Request an individual claiming they are fleeing because of being battered or subjected to extreme cruelty because of domestic violence to obtain statements from law enforcement and/or a domestic violence agency verifying they are fleeing and to turn the statement into the POWER DFS worker.

B.   Complete the appointment form for the DWS meeting setting the required contact and/or appointment within two working days if DWS is located in the same town as the job seeker or within no more than five working days if DWS is not easily accessible.

1.    Monitor the registration by reviewing the weekly DWS report;

2.    Review the DWS monthly report for compliance;

3.    Update the case record as appropriate; and

4.    Advise the work program action center of any changes in the employment of the assistance unit or of job refusals.

C.   Authorize the $1 nonpayment status for the appropriate performance period(s) when the job seeker fails to comply with the DWS registration requirements or to follow-up with job leads using the "XW" unearned income code on UNIN.
